Commercial Support for Scala

Commercial support for Scala has just taken a leap forward as Scala Solutions (Martin Odersky) and Scalable Solutions (Jonas Bonér) join forces to create Typesafe, a new company launched today with $3 million in Series A financing led by Greylock Partners.

The company introduces an open source "Typesafe Stack", which integrates the most recent releases of the Scala programming language, Akka middleware and developer tools into one package simplifing Scala business application creation. The new company has given a boost to all the key open source Scala developer tools, contributing a new version of the Eclipse plugin and a new version of SBT and offering support services.
