Is there any way we can get the lists indexed by Nabble now that Google Groups is the list facilitator? The Google Groups web interface, from the search perspective is terrible. Funny, considering Google is a search company. I guess they never really updated Deja News other than with some style sheets.

On a similar note, what's with all the OSS projects jumping over to Google Groups? What's wrong with good ol LISTSRV?

Craig.

Email for group discussions is an impoverished technology. It doesn't
help that so many MUAs are not standards-compliant, but users (their
proclivities) are a big part of the problem, too.

Good riddance to email, I say.

Re: Nabble

I disagree, I think email for submission and Nabble for searching/threading works great.

I think all we need to do is have Nabble join the group, and it does the rest itself. http://n3.nabble.com/archive-your-mailing-list.html

It never left, it just moved and morphed. Now it's Novell Pulse.

One of our own works on it, I believe.

I have a beta account, though I've scarcely used it so far.

Re: Nabble

Bah! They let anyone on the beta nowadays.

I remember when it was exclusive. Which basically meant Daniel and anyone he'd invited :)

Re: Nabble
Novell Vibe, actually -- they changed the name.  And Wave in a Box (the OSS version of Wave) will probably be pretty cool, but it's going to take a while...

He offered to invite me, but it was too late. The beta had been opened
up to the public...

Amen to that.

The *only* technology I have seen so far that both makes sense in
theory and works in practice, is good ol' Usenet. Which is actually
what I am using right now, thanks to the good people at Gmane.org.

Google Wave is the only one that I have seen come close.
