Eclipse Plugin RC2 binary distribution available?

Miles, or any other Scala-IDE hackers,

Is there a binary of the RC2 version of the plugin that I can download and
install? My eclipse (actually IBM RAD 7.5) gets confused when I ask
it to load
the plugin from http://www.scala-lang.org/scala-eclipse-plugin-rc. It says
there is no feature to be found there.

Thanks,
Dinesh

Dinesh,

You can download the binary from:
http://www.scala-lang.org/downloads/distrib/files/ch.epfl.lamp.sdt_2.8.0...

make sure to expand it in an empty directory, as it will expand into a
bunch of files rather than creating its own dir.

What Toni said ...

It'd be good to get to the bottom of the issue you're having with the
update site. Could you post on scala-ide-user
(http://groups.google.com/group/scala-ide-user) and we'll see what we
can do.

From the next release on, update sites and zips/tarballs will be
available directly from http://www.scala-ide.org.

Cheers,

Miles

Re: Eclipse Plugin RC2 binary distribution available?

Miles, Antonio,

Thanks a lot. I will download it after this thread has run its course.

I had an earlier plugin (Beta), yesterday, I thought I should update
and give the RC 2 a go. Added the update site and RAD would complain
that a newer plugin was already installed. So I uninstalled the
plugin. The configuration does not list any scala plugin.

Today morning, started RAD, clicked
Help->Software Updates->Find and Install->Search for new features to
install->Selected (http://www.scala-lang.org/scala-eclipse-plugin-rc)
in Sites to include in search->Finish

No Features found on the selected site(s).

Looked in workspace/.metadata/.log and found this:

!ENTRY org.eclipse.update.core 4 0 2010-05-11 10:12:40.242

There is Eclipse Weaving Service Feature 1.6.4.20090313172428
installed and active from the earlier plugin. Not sure if this makes
a difference, but I can remove it if needed.

Let me know whatelse to do to help figure this out.
