I'm just wondering if anyone had any idea of how successful Scala is
becoming. Are there going to be jobs for Scala programmers down the
road in significant numbers?

Thanks,
Ken

Define "significant".  I don't think Scala will compete with Java in terms of shear numbers anytime soon, but that doesn't mean there aren't or won't be any opportunities available.

Re: Re: Are there going to be Scala jobs?

My employer, Twitter, is interested in hiring talented programmers who
are versed in Scala. Not to boast, but we're one of the
best-publicized startups out there. I hope that we're not in alone in
making some Scala-related hires in 2009. http://twitter.com/jobs
