Odersky's "Scala Levels"

Hi,

This question is closely related to yesterday's "To Subset or Not To
Subset" thread, but I thought I'd ask about it explicitly and
separately.

Has anyone tried to employ Martin's "Scala levels: beginner to expert,
application programmer to library designer" [1]? If so, have you
modified them? What was your experience with the approach?
