Google Acquires AppJet

Google is boosting the development of Wave by adding the people who developed the highly successful EtherPad and its underlying AppJet web framework using Scala. EtherPad is the only web-based word processor that allows people to work together in really real-time. You can see how Scala has contributed to the project by looking at the source code now made available as an Open Source Project. This is a company that has seen the benefits of Scala, invested in it and achieved entrepreneurial success. Success much deserved by the design and delivery of a product their customers enjoy, see their testimonials. So will Scala become part of a new Wave at Google?

Re: Google Acquires AppJet

What Google needs to do is invest in some PR for Wave because 95% of people have no idea what it's for or what to do with it. It's either way ahead of its time or simply a worthless service. It's a cool service, no doubt. It remains to be seen how useful it is in real world situations.
