Promote Scala!
Someone pointed out to me that the mailing lists have been free of Jovial, fun material lately. As such, I decided to bring back a few memes to help everyone promote scala at their workplace, or on the interwebs.
Here they are for your enjoyment.

Would it be reasonable for the "Scala community" to adopt a JEP/JSR we care about? E. g. better class file format/closures/tailcalls?

I assume everybody knows the Lambdacats already, but if not, here they are:
Most of them are applicable to Scala, too.

I miss the paulpisms of scala-user. They seem to have disappeared. Paul Phillips' posts used to be clever, helpful and witty (sometimes a bit cruel), with a prose that made them a pleasure to read also when the topic discussed was far above my head.

Re: Promote Scala!
Scala in my eyes is transformers which is solid(typesafe, immutable),variation(trait, currying) and powerful.
On the other hand, scala is hard to control and touch.
Re: Promote Scala!
They can not let me enjoy , image or know what is scala.
I means it's better if there are more beauty , interesting, and simple promote?
These let me image a us army poster , but it was War I.

Re: Promote Scala!
I found the best image of language is ruby which is simple, beauty and sexual.
It can make younger interested.
I think scala should not only try to interest experience developers but also new developers who maybe very young and want cool.

Yes. It represents the EPFL staircase:
Doesn't it meet the requirements of a good logo? :)

Re: Promote Scala!
Ruby uses a ruby gemstone as a logo
Scala uses a staircase (=scala in Italian) as a logo
So both logos refer to the name.
I think the staircase logo also represents that you can learn scala
step by step from simple to advanced.
A ruby gemstone represents passion and power, it's the king of
gemstones.
Both logos represent what it stands for and are tightly connected to
the name.
