FP for Master's Thesis

I am thinking about studying functional programming for writing a Master's Thesis in Computer Science. I will be very grateful if someone here can recommend some reading for me regarding this. I don't have an specific area yet, but I guess something related to distributed computing using FP would fit for our Master's program.
